The Los Angeles Dodgers will host the New York Yankees for a high profile three-Game set this weekend from Dodger Stadium.

New York moved to 34-24 after taking two of three from Seattle. The Yankees had their four-Game win streak snapped in the series finale, and they’ll seek success in the city of Angels this weekend. The New York offense is scoring 3.92 runs per Game, while batting .239, with a .313 on-base percentage. The pitching staff carries a 3.87 ERA, with a 1.25 WHIP. Aaron Judge has homered in three of the last four Games,  and he leads the Yanks in HR (18) and RBI (39). Anthony Rizzo has produced a run in six of the last nine Games, and he leads the team in hits (63) and BA (.304), with 32 RBI.  Gleyber Torres is riding an eleven-Game hit streak, while hitting .268.

Lou Severino (0-0, 1.59 ERA, 10 Ks) will get the ball for New York. The eighth-year lefty is working himself back into Game form, and he pitched well against San Diego last week, striking out five in 6.2 innings pitched, while allowing just one earned run.

Los Angeles moved to 34-23 after taking two of three Washington. The Dodgers let the Nats slip away with Game three, and they’ll look to avenge that harsh defeat here. The Los Angeles offense is scoring 5.04 runs per Game, while batting .231, with a .326 on-base percentage. The pitching staff carries a 4.24 ERA, with a 1.27 WHIP. Freddie Freeman is playing at an MVP level right now, and after collecting a hit in 20 straight Games, he’s up to team-leads in BA (.346), hits (79) and runs (49). J.D. Martinez has gone deep in three of the last four Games, and he’s posting splits of .278/12/39. Max Muncy has played a run in six of the last eight Games, and he leads LAD in homers (17) and RBI (40). 

Clayton Kershaw (6-4, 3.32 ERA, 75 Ks) will make the road start for Los Angeles. The longtime Dodger had a tough time in Tampa last week, allowing four runs in five innings pitched, but luckily avoiding a third straight defeat. Kershaw cooled off last month after starting hot in April, delivering just one quality start, while dropping three decisions.

An extensive Roman coin collection has been found in a Swiss orchard, one of the most significant archeological discoveries. In Ueken, a tiny village in northwestern Switzerland, a farmer discovered the ancient coins several months ago. He excavated them by accident while inspecting his cherry trees.
