Latest Calder Trophy odds update
10/10/2023: Preseason play has shaken up Logan Cooley's Calder odds, with the Coyote between +750 and +800 on the odds board. Joining him in the Top 3 are Connor Bedard — obviously — and Luke Hughes. One big move came with Adam Fantilli, whose odds rose to +1,400 at bet365.
Previous Calder betting action
9/26/2023: The consensus on Connor Bedard remains the same with regular season hockey less than two weeks away... he is the hottest rookie coming into the 2023/24 campaign. Luke Hughes and Adam Fantilli are still a ways away behind him on the odds board, with Caesars sportsbook giving Logan Cooley some love at +800.
9/12/2023: Connor Bedard is still king at -140, with Luke Hughes still sitting at +700. Logan Cooley has shifted from the third spot to the fourth after Adam Fantilli's odds moved to +1,100. Devon Levi is also on the fringe at +1,200.
8/29/2023: The Top 3 on the odds board remain in the same order, however, Connor Bedard has seen his odds slightly shift from -140 to -145 while Luke Hughes' odds shifted from +700 to +900... and logan Colloey's went from +900 to +1,200. Odds lower in the board have stayed put in the last week.
8/20/2023: The legend of Connor Bedard continues, with the 18-year-old prodigy already labeled as a -140 favorite to capture Calder honors. Bedard put up 143 points in just 57 games last year with the Regina Pats, and the center possesses one of the most lethal shots in the game already. In second at +600 is Luke Hughes, who got five games under his belt in the NHL last year with the New Jersey Devils. At third with a +900 price tag is Logan Cooley, the 2022 third overall pick who is fresh off a 60-point season with U of Minnesota.
4/25/2023: Matty Beniers may have closed as the favorite to win the Calder, but Stuart Skinner did his damndest to make sure his name was known by the end of the season. It's just a matter of waiting to see who will win at this point, but we can still watch both players do their thing in the playoffs.
4/4/2023: Matty Beniers remains atop the odds board for this year's best rookie honors at -700, but there has been some significant movement behind the Kraken forward. Stuart Skinner saw his odds improve from +1,200 to +850 as the Oilers continue their strong play, and Arizona forward Matias Maccelli's odds leaped from +5,000 to +1,600. The 22-year-old winger has recorded points in four of five and has 45 points in 60 games.

Understanding NHL Calder odds
Most sportsbooks will display odds in the American format as listed above. When the regular season is nearly finished and a consensus has emerged, you might see a player with a minus sign (-) ahead of his odds, like this:
- Matty Beniers -400
The (-) means that Shesterkin is the odds-on favorite, and a bettor would need to wager $400 to win $100. Other contenders in the Calder race might have plus (+) odds to win.
- Logan Thompson +650
Here, a bettor stood to profit $650 for every $100 wagered.
If American odds aren't your thing, simply use a tool like our odds converter to switch the odds to decimal or fractional format. Most online sportsbooks also give you the option to change the odds format that you see.

- In 1990, Sergei Makarov became the oldest player to win the Calder at 31 years old.
