The San Francisco Giants will head down the coast to take on the Los Angeles Dodgers for a divisional series, starting this Friday from Dodger Stadium. San Francisco took two of three from Los Angeles in the Bay back in April.

Los Angeles moved to 39-30 after taking two of three from Chicago. The Dodgers were able to take the series finale against the Sox, but they’ve uncharacteristically still failed to win consecutive Games yet this month, and they’ll look to buck that trend this weekend. The Los Angeles offense is scoring 5.04 runs per Game, while batting .231, with a .326 on-base percentage. The pitching staff carries a 4.24 ERA, with a 1.27 WHIP. Freddie Freeman has scored a run in seven of the last nine Games, and he leads LAD in BA (.328), hits (90) and runs (58). Mookie Betts carries a nine-Game hit streak into this weekend, and he’s posting splits of .265/17/43. Max Muncy produced a run in the series finale to bring his RBI total to 45, with a team-lead 18 home runs. 

Emmet Sheehan (0-0, 0.00) will make the start for Los Angeles. This will mark the right-hander’s MLB debut after being called up from the Tulsa Drillers, the Dodgers AA affiliate. Sheehan went 4-1, with a 1.86 ERA with Tulsa this season.

An extensive Roman coin collection has been found in a Swiss orchard, one of the most significant archeological discoveries. In Ueken, a tiny village in northwestern Switzerland, a farmer discovered the ancient coins several months ago. He excavated them by accident while inspecting his cherry trees.
