You Need To Beat Horizon Forbidden West's Campaign To Play Burning Shores

The Horizon series is one of the more recent triple-A experiences, in PlayStation's History, and which Sony has nurtured and marketed as a system seller. While the sequel Horizon Forbidden West suffered the misfortune of being launched around the same time as the award-winning and mega-best-selling phenomenon that is Elden Ring, it doesn't mean the Game has not been a success.

Far from it, Horizon Forbidden West has reportedly sold more than 10 million copies and while it is available on both PS4 and PS5, Sony is really pushing PlayStation 5 this year, and the upcoming Horizon Forbidden West expansion Burning Shores will be launching only for the current gen. But as pre-orders have started for the DLC, its developer has been making sure players are aware of certain things.

Burning Shores follows on immediately from Horizon Forbidden West's story, continuing off from where we last left Aloy in the main story quest known as Singularity. In a new YouTube video, Guerrilla Games has been prepping players and letting them know what's in store, but also reminding what the game offers. You can watch it below:

That the Burning Shores DLC picks up directly from the end of the Game does mean players will need to complete Horizon Forbidden West. "Most importantly, finish all the main quests", says the narrator in the above video. "All the way through to the last one, Singularity". Once players have done that, and Burning Shores has released, you'll be getting a call from Sylens.

It's heartening to hear Sylens' voice in this new trailer. Sylens is an important character in the Horizon story, a Mysterious figure that can be hard to judge, but he's a hard one to forget, with the character performed by the late actor Lance Reddick who recently passed away.

Horizon fans, among others, were sad to learn of Reddick's death, with many Gamers, especially younger ones, associating the actor with the title. It'll be good to hear that voice again. Burning Shores launches on PS5 on April 19. Pre-orders are live on the PS Store for £15.99/$19.99.
