Eyes of Possibility

I look toward the horizon and imagine sharks and poisonous jellyfish, shipwrecks and skeletons, sea monsters, chemical waste, electric eels, slave ships, oil tankers and darkness.

“Isn’t it beautiful, Papa?” says Kinsley. “There’s pretty fish, and underwater sand castles, big waves and little waves, mermaids and seahorses out there!”

I look toward the horizon and see things a little differently, and I gaze at my granddaughter as she holds my hand.

“Why you crying, Papa?”

“I’m not, just a little salt water in my eyes.”

And we dive in.

Striking gold! Lucky prospector unearths a ‘monster’ 1.4kg nugget worth up to $100,000

A lucky prospector has struck gold after unearthing a precious and rare find worth almost $100,000. The anonymous prospector couldn’t believe their good luck when their metal detector uncovered a whopping 1.4 kilogram nugget while hunting for gold in Kalgoorlie in Western Australia’s Goldfields-Esperance region recently. Finders Keepers Gold Prospecting posted photos of the surprising discovery on Facebook last week after a customer brought in their precious find to be valued. This newly unearthed 1.4 kilogram nugget is valued at almost $100,000 at current gold prices ‘1.4 kilo piece found a few weeks ago near Kalgoorlie by a very lucky customer of mine whilst walking the saltbush flats.’ Aspiring prospectors were impressed with the discovery. ‘That’s incredible, what a great find. SY After a 26-hour rescue operation, a massive sperm whale emerges unscathed to continue swimming for another day.

After a 20-hour rescue mission, a 65-foot whale that washed up on a beach in China was finally towed back into the water. Recently, a massive whale became stranded in Ningbo City, south of Shanghai. It was feared that if it wasn’t placed back into the water in time, it would perish from dehydration. Despite the fact that whale s breathe oxygen like terrestrial Animals , they require water to keep from overheating. Beached whales are also at risk of collapsing under their own weight or drowning if their blowhole is covered by high tide. Firefighters dispatched a rescue squad, who sprayed water on the whale ’s 20-meter body and constructed a seawater trench pool to keep it alive. Volunteers aided in the movement of the whale , which weighed an estimated ten tons. The whale was dragged to shallow waters after the team tied it up using guide ropes.
